PEET

Personal External Engagement Tracker — Capture. Reflect. Grow.

Add engagement

Calendar feed

Subscribe once and your upcoming and attended engagements show up in your calendar automatically. Entries with a start time appear at that time, in the timezone you chose. The rest appear as all-day events. Missed engagements are left out.

Google Calendar: Other calendars (+), then From URL, then paste. Google can take up to a day to refresh.
Apple Calendar: File, then New Calendar Subscription.
Outlook: Add calendar, then Subscribe from web.

Anyone with this link can see your engagement names, so keep it private. "Make a new link" stops the old one working.

Delete account

This permanently deletes your account, all your engagements, and your calendar and share links. It cannot be undone, so download your data first.

How to use PEET

Adding an entry

Click Add engagement. Paste an event link and click Fill from link to pull in the title, date, host and more from the page. This works when the page publishes its details, and some sites block it, so always check what it fills. Then add or fix the title, type, format, date, host, speaker and themes. Use + Add more details for times, timezone, end date, status, extra links, notes, takeaways and follow-up.

Status

New entries start as Upcoming. Once the date has passed and the status is still Upcoming, the entry shows Update status in red, with buttons to mark it attended or missed. Marking something attended opens a short prompt for what stuck with you and what to follow up. Attended entries that still have no takeaway show Update reflection in the same way, until you add one.

Themes

Themes are your own topic tags, such as AI, data, leadership, design, climate or career change. They show what you keep learning about across different events. For example, a talk on using AI to analyse climate data might get the themes ai, climate, data.

Insights and summaries

Click Insights, at the top of the page, to review any period: how many entries you attended, your hours, your themes with the takeaways grouped under each, your top hosts, and every open follow-up in one list. Hours come from entries that have a start and end time, and a multi-day entry counts its daily times for each day. Copy summary puts the review on your clipboard, ready for a journal, a mentor or an appraisal. On the 1st of each month, the reminder offers last month's summary.

Finding things

The number tiles at the top are filters. Click Upcoming, Attended, Missed, Update status or Total, and click the same tile again to clear it. You can also search titles, speakers, hosts, notes and themes, and filter by type. The list shows 10 entries at a time, and Load more shows 10 more. Under the tiles, Today, This week, Next 7 days and This month show only what is on in that window.

Selecting several entries

Click Select above the list to show a checkbox on each entry. Tick the ones you want, or click Select all to take everything the current filters show. Edit selected then changes the status, format, type, host or themes of all of them at once, and only the fields you fill in are changed. Delete moves them to Recently deleted, up to 20 at a time so Undo always works.

Calendar feed

Open Account, then Calendar feed, to get a private link. Add it once to Google, Apple or Outlook calendar and your engagements appear and update on their own. Entries with a start time show at that time in the timezone you chose, and the rest show as all-day events. Missed and deleted entries are left out. Google can take up to a day to refresh. Anyone with the link can see your event names, hosts and links, so keep it private. Make a new link cancels the old one.

Sharing a read-only view

Open Account, then Share a read-only view, and switch sharing on to get a link for a mentor or advisor. They can browse, search and filter, but can't change anything, and they don't need an account. Tick Include my notes and takeaways only if you want them to see those. Otherwise notes, takeaways, follow-ups and extra links stay hidden. Turn sharing off, or make a new link, to cut off access.

Deleted entries

Delete moves an entry to Recently deleted, and an Undo bar appears at the top of the screen for a few seconds. After that, find it under Account, then Recently deleted, where you can restore it or delete it for good. PEET keeps your 20 most recently deleted entries. When a 21st is deleted, the oldest is removed permanently.

Your data

Under Account you can import rows from a spreadsheet, download everything as a CSV, and delete your account. On the 1st of each month PEET reminds you to save a copy. Tidy up, under Account, suggests fixes for imported entries: splitting a speaker out of the title, moving links out of notes, and tidying the type and format (for example, Online talk becomes type Talk with format Online (live)). If you forget your password, use Forgot password on the sign-in screen.

Privacy note

What PEET stores: your email address, a password (kept scrambled by the sign-in service, so nobody can read it), and the engagements you add: names, dates, times, hosts, speakers, themes, notes and takeaways.

Who can see it: only you, while signed in. Each account can only read its own rows in the database. Two optional links change that. Your calendar link shows names, dates, times, hosts, speakers and links to anyone who has it. A share link shows your log to anyone who has it, with or without your notes, as you choose. You can turn off or replace both at any time.

What PEET does not do: there are no ads or analytics, and your data is not sold or shared. The page loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which means Google can see that a font was requested. If you use "Fill from link", PEET's server reads the page you paste; the link is saved only if you save the entry.

If PEET ever closes: you will get at least 30 days' notice by email, and Download CSV will keep working during that time.

Your control: the 20 most recently deleted entries stay in Recently deleted until you remove them for good, and older ones are removed automatically. You can download everything as a CSV (it opens in any spreadsheet and can be imported back into PEET), or delete your account and all its data permanently, from Account.

PEET is a small personal project hosted on Netlify and Supabase. Please don't store anything you wouldn't be comfortable keeping in an online service.

Share a read-only view

Give a mentor or advisor a link to view your log. They can look and search, but can't change anything, and they don't need an account.

Anyone with the link can view your log while sharing is on. Turn it off or make a new link to cut off access.

Edit selected

Only the fields you fill in are changed.

Manage themes

Rename a theme to fix a spelling, or rename it to an existing theme to merge the two. Changes apply to every entry that uses it.

Insights

How did it go?

Recently deleted

The 20 most recently deleted entries wait here until you remove them for good. When a 21st is deleted, the oldest is removed automatically. Nothing here appears in your list, calendar feed or share link.

Import from your sheet

Copy the rows from Google Sheets (include the header row) and paste them here. Recognised columns include Status, Type or Category, Format, Date, End date, Start time, End time, Timezone, Title or Name, Source or Host, Speaker, Themes, Links, Notes, Key Takeaways and Follow-up. "Done" becomes Attended.
